Joint programs are always between two partners: the Department of Philosophy and one other graduate program (at UChicago, the programs are Classics, Germanics, Linguistics, and Social Thought). The purpose of such programs is to allow a graduate student to come into sustained and rewarding dialogue with faculty and graduate students working in a related field.
Other Disciplines. 2 students were accepted for the PhD in Comparative Human Development. 1 student was accepted for the PhD in Conceptual and Historical Studies of Science. Elsewhere at UChicago, 1 student was accepted for the PhD in Comparative Literature, 1 was accepted for the PhD in East Asian Languages and Civilizations, and 1 was accepted for the PhD in Public Policy.
